442 Japanese sets across 17 series — updated daily with price and trend data.
Japan is the leading indicator for the global Pokemon TCG market. Every English set ships 3-6 months after its Japanese counterpart — pricing, pull rates, and chase-card demand in Japan tell you what to expect when the English version drops.
This directory tracks every Japanese expansion from the WOTC era through current Scarlet & Violet releases. Filter by name, jump to a series, or scan trend badges to find sets where momentum is building before English arbitrage windows close.

Japanese Pokemon TCG sets follow a different release cadence and structure than English. Most Japanese expansions are smaller — 70 to 100 cards versus 150 to 300 in English — and frequently two or three Japanese sets are merged into a single English release. Wild Force and Cyber Judge, for example, became Temporal Forces in English.
Print runs are tighter and quality control historically stronger, which makes high-grade Japanese cards scarcer in PSA 10 than their English counterparts. That scarcity drives a meaningful graded premium even when raw card prices look lower.
Sealed Japanese product (booster boxes, elite trainer boxes, special sets like 151 and VMAX Climax) is heavily collected in Western markets and often appreciates faster than English sealed due to import friction and limited regional supply.
Japan releases new sets 3-6 months before the English market. Tracking Japanese pricing, pull rates, and chase-card demand gives investors a leading indicator for which English equivalents will perform when they hit Western markets.
Japanese sets are smaller (typically 70-100 cards versus 150-300 for English), have different print runs, and use distinct set names. Multiple Japanese sets often combine into one English release — for example, Japanese Wild Force and Cyber Judge merged into Temporal Forces.
Japanese cards generally trade at lower raw prices than English equivalents but command a strong premium when graded PSA 10 due to tighter print quality and lower graded population. Sealed Japanese product is heavily collected in Western markets and often appreciates faster than English.
Vintage Japanese WOTC-era sets (1996-2002), modern chase sets like VMAX Climax and 151, and special collections such as Pokemon Card Game Classic hold the strongest long-term value. Limited print runs and high-grade scarcity drive most of the premium.
When a Japanese set sells out fast or chase cards spike, the English equivalent typically sees similar demand on release. Use this directory to identify which Japanese sets are heating up, then position before the English announcement closes the arbitrage window.
